On September 4, 2020 Governor Newsom signed AB 2257 into immediate effect which substantially revises and clarifies AB5, California’s independent contractor law. AB 2257 exempts some musicians, performing artists and fine artists from the “ABC” test, AB5's stricter independent contractor test. Where does this leave your organization and your artists? Join San Mateo County Arts Commission, Thrive Alliance and attorney Shivani Sutaria of Shivani Sutaria Law Offices for a presentation on AB5 and AB 2257. We will follow the presentation with an informal conversation and time to connect with other arts and culture organizations.
